Nov 30 Chagrin Falls, Ohio

Chagrin Falls is a small town in northeast Ohio. Nestled among the woodlands, it is built alongside the eponymous waterfalls that exemplify its quaint beauty. For a lovely stroll, day or night, Chagrin Falls offers Americana charm.

I grew up visiting Chagrin Falls often, and while we definitely have our go-to spots, shops, and places to eat, there is always something more to discover. Today, I’d like to share some of those places with you.

The downtown of Chagrin Falls if full of shops and restaurants, many of which are institutions by this point. To accompany your walk by the falls, you can pick up a scoop of ice cream and some old-time candy from the Chagrin Falls Popcorn Shop (and some popcorn as well!). Just by the popcorn shop is a stairway to walk down and view the falls from below, an unmissable sight.

Another great spot for ice cream is Jeni’s. Now available across the country, Jeni’s began in Ohio, and offers seasonal and artisanal flavors of ice cream.

If you are hungry, Yours Truly is a northeast Ohio classic with a location in Chagrin Falls. They have a variety of offerings, as well as an all-day breakfast. This location is very cute and endearing and reflective of the town itself.

To grab-and-go, you could pick up a sandwich from another Cleveland-favorite, Dave’s Cosmic Subs. Chagrin Falls is home many more restaurants which range from casual to upscale dining, so you’ll definitely be able to find what you’re looking for.

Chagrin Falls has several shops to stop into, from jewelry, clothing and accessories to bookstores, boutiques, and goods for the home.

When coming into town, be attentive if you are driving down the Main Street hill. This steep hill is host to an annual pumpkin roll, a charming - and messy - local tradition that happens in the fall, which if you are wondering what it it, it is exactly as it sounds :)

These are just some of my favorite places in Chagrin Falls. For a small town, there are several more places to discover. Lovely in all seasons, it is worth it to take a drive around the surrounding countryside and spend the day exploring this charming town.
